Description: SOX9 recognizes the sequence CCTTGAG along with other members of the HMG-box class DNA-binding proteins. It acts during chondrocyte differentiation and, with steroidogenic factor 1, regulates transcription of the anti-Muellerian hormone (AMH) gene. Deficiencies lead to the skeletal malformation syndrome campomelic dysplasia, frequently with sex reversal. |

Description: Sox-9 is a protein encoded by the SOX9 gene which is approximately 56,2 kDa. Sox-9 is localised to the nucleus. It is involved in signalling by wnt, cAMP signalling pathway and embryonic and induced pluripotent stem cell differentiation pathways and lineage-specific markers. It plays an important role in the normal skeletal development and may regulate the expression of other genes involved in chondrogenesis by acting as a transcription factor for these genes. Sox-9 is expressed in the nervous system, eye, bone, intestine and pancreas. Mutations in the SOX9 gene may result in campomelic dysplasia. STJ95736 was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. This polyclonal antibody detects endogenous levels of Sox-9 protein. |

EUR 322.15 |
Description: Transcription factor that forms a trimeric complex with OCT4 on DNA and controls the expression of a number of genes involved in embryonic development such as YES1, FGF4, UTF1 and ZFP206. Critical for early embryogenesis and for embryonic stem cell pluripotency. May function as a switch in neuronal development. Downstream SRRT target that mediates the promotion of neural stem cell self-renewal. Keeps neural cells undifferentiated by counteracting the activity of proneural proteins and suppresses neuronal differentiation (By similarity). |

EUR 322.15 |
Description: The intronless gene for SOX2 encodes a member of the SRY-related HMG-box (SOX) family of transcription factors involved in the regulation of embryonic development and in the determination of cell fate. The encoded protein may act as a transcriptional activator after forming a protein complex with other proteins. Mutations in the SOX2 gene have been associated with bilateral anophthalmia, a severe form of structural eye malformation. |
